Filipinos of voting age, I need 5 minutes of your time.

coloncloseparenthesis:

arriana:

I know my Tumblr is most of the time just fluff and pink and prettiness, but please indulge a serious (and angry) side of me for a little bit.

There are two reasons why I am getting riled up about THIS:

  • Grace Padaca is the woman I look up to the most. And I say this without exaggeration. She’s fearless, yet maintains a soft sincerity that is rare for people of her position.
  • As a first time voter, it angers me that the COMELEC is making complete IDIOTS out of the people!!! Anong akala nila sa atin, tanga? Do they think we won’t see past this sudden slew of actions against officials who are against the administration? Call me crazy, but I think it will be even crazier if I don’t do anything about this. Whoever you’re supporting this coming elections, THIS is just a complete outrage! It’s a belittlement of what we voters are capable of—I believe that the COMELEC is just banking on our apathy. LET US PLEASE NOT GIVE THAT SATISFACTION TO THEM.

To know more about what’s happening, read the article HERE.

Now there are two things I want to ask of you:

  1. Read and sign the ONLINE PETITION if you believe that voters deserve a better, cleaner, more honest elections this coming 2010. REMEMBER, this is the very same Comelec that will supervise the elections in 2010. We must do something about this.
  2. Spread the link of the online petition on your Facebook/Twitter. Right now, my status message reads: I believe that Governor Grace Padaca is the true and legitimate governor of Isabela. Let’s support Gov. Grace and the other good leaders in government!” Make it yours, too.

Thank you guys! If you care enough about our country, reblog—or at least, let me know what you think, please?

Putangina talaga ng COMELEC.

Kaya Natin! Statement on the Electoral Protests filed against Pampanga Gov. Eddie Panlilio and Isabela Gov. Grace Padaca

coloncloseparenthesis:

In the face of the electoral protests and complaints that have been put forth by their respective political opponents at the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), we, the leaders of Kaya Natin! A National Movement for Good Governance and Ethical Leadership wish to reaffirm our unwavering support to our two Kaya Natin! co-founders and modern-day icons of Philippine democracy, Pampanga Governor Eddie Panlilio and Isabela Gov. Grace Padaca.

We strongly believe that the allegations of electoral fraud and cheating hurled against Governors Panlilio and Padaca by their political opponents are absolutely false and baseless. Given their lack of financial resources and political machinery, who will believe that they will have the capability to commit electoral fraud? We believe that these recent moves by some leaders at the COMELEC to rule against Governors Panlilio and Padaca is part of a grand plot by the present administration to oust duly-elected government leaders who are closely identified with the opposition, particularly with the Liberal Party. Moreover, this does not come as a surprise anymore given that their political opponents, namely former Pampanga Board Member Lilia Pineda and Benjamin Dy respectively, are known to be very close allies of this present administration.

We challenge the COMELEC and its leaders to maintain its independence as a democratic institution that is tasked to protect and preserve the true mandate of the Filipino people. Moreover, we challenge its leaders to act and decide on all its pending election cases with a sense of integrity, propriety, decency and with good conscience. Finally, we appeal to every Filipino who believes in Good Governance and Ethical Leadership to continue to remain vigilant in the face of current attacks to our country’s democratic institutions. We believe that the only way for good, well-meaning, effective and empowering leaders such as Governors Panlilio and Padaca to prevail in the face of difficulties and challenges is through the concerted and united efforts of every Filipino.

Signed:

HON. JESSE ROBREDO, Mayor, Naga City
HON. TEDDY BAGUILAT, JR., Governor, Ifugao
HON. SONIA LORENZO, Mayor, San Isidro, Nueva Ecija
HON. FLORANTE GERDAN, Mayor, Sta. Fe, Nueva Vizcaya
HON. ROQUE VERZOSA, JR., Mayor, Tagudin, Ilocos Sur
HON. FERMIN MABULO, Mayor, San Fernando, Camarines Sur
HON. MARIVIC BELENA, Mayor, San Jose City, Nueva Ecija
HON. TEOFISTO GUINGONA III, Representative, Bukidnon
HON. JORGE “BOLET” BANAL, Councilor, Quezon City
HON. MABEL SUNGA-ACOSTA, Councilor, Davao City
HON. GLORIA CONGCO, former Mayor, Cabiao, Nueva Ecija
HON. NERIC ACOSTA, former Representative, Bukidnon
_________________

Gov. Ed Panlilio and Gov. Grace Padaca are two of the few local government officials who are ethical, efficient and exemplary. It’s quite obvious that something fishy happened in that stupid COMELEC office. They’re two of our best politicians, and you strip them off of their power? I really believe in these two, in their capacity to promote good governance and instigate change in this country. I am very saddened by what just happened.

Putangina, ano ang nangyayari sa Pilipinas?

Dear Fellow Filipinos,

coloncloseparenthesis:

Today we mourn the death of democracy once again as President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and her no-good allies continue to spit in our faces with the obvious and demoralizing actions they have recently undertaken. This year alone, the scandals that have rocked the administration should have been enough to make any person with a conscience and moral principles hide from shame and embarrassment.

Not this one. Apparently, our President is totally devoid of any kind of moral dilemma that she and her cronies feel that they can get away with blatantly stepping on the law without regard for consequences. Because we know that in this administration, there are no consequences. At least, not if you’re an ally.

With the COMELEC’s 2nd Division’s ruling against Isabela Governor Grace Padaca, a Ramon Magsaysay Awardee for Government Service last 2008 and Co-Founder of Kaya Natin! Movement for Good Governance, the administration has once again proved its ability to bypass moral and legal issues and still keep a smiling face. Soon, we expect this same division to also rule against Pampanga Gov. Among Ed Panlilio.

These latest actions spearheaded by known PGMA ally Commissioner Nicodemo Ferrer reeks of indecency and corruption; it can’t even be considered to have an “ulterior motive,” because the motive behind it is so painfully obvious that it is already offensive and derogatory to the entire Philippine nation, to the values of our hard earned democracy.

Hello!

Pasensiya na at nawala ako bigla. Nagkaroon kasi ako ng malubhang karamdaman. Ngayon, magaling na ako. Medyo lumalakas na ang aking pakiramdam. :)

Grace Padaca at Gob.
